Future

“Stalking elk past department store windows and stinking racks of beautiful rotting dresses and tuxedos on hangers; you’ll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life, and you’ll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower.  Jack and the beanstalk, you’ll climb up through the dripping forest canopy and the air will be so clean you’ll see tiny figures pounding corn and laying strips of venison to dry in the empty car pool lane of an abandoned superhighway stretching eight-lanes-wide and August-hot for a thousand miles”(Fight Club). I wish the future could be like this…I feel that our society is becoming too modern and unattached to a little thing called life. I rarely see kids go to the local park or walking dogs, only old people. Those people get it though, and though that sounds dumb it’s right. I feel that those people lived more invigorating lives then some of us ever will as we had behind smart phones and computers. I fear it will only get worse as the future goes on, unless this technology drives in a different direction. Instead of excluding us from the outdoors, maybe it could direct us towards it. Finding a way to incorporate both in a way that blends into something beautiful would be great, but I guess for now I can live in the past and wish Brad Pitt was here to blow up the nearest financial buildings in order to send us all back to the stone age and start over.

current events

This article is intimidating upon reading it. The article talks about the growing economic crisis shrouding our economy today. According to the article, the U.S. government has continuously borrowed money that they haven’t yet paid back. This is the world’s money, in which each time the money is borrowed a high interest rate is involved when paying back. Even worse than the fact that this debt hasn’t been repaid back yet, is the fact that the government continues to borrow money as well. This has caused serious problems for the current generation as well as growing problems for the future generations. For example if this continues then 22% of the benefits involved with social security will be lost, as well as people will not be able to start drawing it until later ages. All of these problems continue to dawn on us, but I feel that many are not aware. Action must be taken place though, and possibly the only people that can do it is the government themselves. Although they are the ones responsible, they are also the only people with enough power to enact some kind of change. Possibly if people are aware of the situation, they can call others to attention and start a movement to help. Either way, a solution must be found before it influences the future generations in an extremely harmful way.

Technology Tip

Guitars can be extremely hard to tune, so simply use harmonics and all those troubles can go away. The only downside to tuning your guitar like this is that you have to at least be able to tune your low e string by ear. The good news is, if you play and tune a guitar enough, you can almost instantly recognize where that note falls. As for the other strings, tuning by harmonics is simple, place your finger lightly on the fifth fret on the string before it and tune that string to the tone you hear. This works all the way to the g string, where you have to put your finger all the way down on the fourth fret to tune the b, then the fifth fret of the b string to tune the e. Sound a little complicated? It isn’t. It’s actually the same routine most people use to tune a guitar except using harmonics instead of pressing all the way down on a fret. Not only is this way more accurate, but its way cooler when you want to show off. Have fun..

A song that spoke to me

The video was also trippy which I loved, but I fell in love with the song because who isn’t on the pursuit of happiness?

This is a picture of me and my pals at the local mall. It represents how I like to spend my spring break, in the company of friends goofing off. It also gave me time to get things done such as clean and play with my car a bit. I feel small things like this are very important, and necessary for college students. Many of us are stressed as is with jobs, full time schooling, and driving to school or living with room mates. It can be a very tiring life and if pushed too much people can easily overload. This may be the reason spring break was invented, but I’m sure that teachers need it just as much with all of their papers they have to grade. Just like many of the other school holidays, it allows time for family and friends as well as allows opportunity to get things done. Without holidays such as this, we would be deprived of the very things that allow us to perform so well. Spring break may just be an exaggerated holiday since it is a week long, compared to the other one or two day holidays, but it’s still crucial.

Future of college..

Future of colleges

http://education.gsu.edu/ctl/Programs/Future_Colleges.htm

This article was an in depth personal view of what colleges are turning out to be. Using research from as far back as a paper statement in the 1800’s, this researcher from Columbine University is well credited and analyzes the matter at hand well. I feel like what he says can be very true, students are beginning to be viewed more as consumers as opposed to students.. We go to college today, and we can tour what we want, we have a time period to where we can experience a class and drop out with no academic penalty. We have the luxury to choose among web or live lecture classes, among professors, and of course among particular times. While most of this is good, many of the negative aspects are ignored. Who is really teaching us? And do they deserve such credentials when half the class fails most of their exams? This author’s article questions many things such as this, saying that professors will be soon based on their popularity and not on which university they came from. So many things are beginning to add up, that I feel one minor mistake can be extremely influential.

This is a photo of me and group of friends before a homecoming night out. Actually, half of us went to the school homecoming and the other half, including myself, decided to go out to the Ybor theater still wearing suits. I feel like it describes me very well, I love my friends and I love to stay classy. Suits, nights out in Ybor City, that’s one of the many ways I like to live.

This is a video I love because I think it’s a cute little song as well as plays on Mario which is pretty awesome. As far as it being viral, it has gained a lot of popularity leading to the very definition of a viral video, one that gains an extreme rise in popularity through the internet. The most well known examples of this would be those first infamous youtube videos we’ve all seen or heard such as the “Leave Britney Alone”, or the dancing baby.

Aspects that make such a video viral would not only be the people who have nothing better to do during their day other than to surf the web, as well as comedic shorts usually pertaining to common aspects we all know and love. Disney, politics, famous actors, and more. These are topics which draw our attention the most, and if done right can allow the video great potential to become popular very quickly. Lately it seems that there’s been even more potential for these because nearly anybody can have access to the internet. Also, it can be viewed anywhere as well. Like wildfire, someone can hear of a popular new video on the web, and instantly access it on their phone, then text the url to another, as they post it on their facebook wall, and the whole line can continue until the video can become popular across a whole nation.

These factors all add up to give those makers or participants of the video a short time to experience fame. Simply by gaining such attention, they can either gain favorable or unfavorable views. Sometimes they may even become famous themselves from such works.

Awesome blog by a pretty unknown music artist, but some of the greatest music and creations can be created by people we don’t even know. A little bit long, but good meaning.
